Muzzy spent 3 days working at Big Talk Studios in February 2024. He participated in a variety of meetings and activities during his time there. Muzzy spent time with the runner team, he joined two storyline meetings on two development projects. He got the chance to participate in the process of working with writers to develop story ideas across a drama series. In order to prepare for this, Muzzy read the story documents and script for both the series. He also got the opportunity to read the shooting draft of the first episode of our new BBC 1 series and then watched the final show. From this, he was able to see how how a script changes during the production and post-production phase of making a show. He found this particularly interesting.
Muzzy also joined meetings at Universal HQ with executives. He enjoyed seeing how collaborations work with other partners in the shows. As the student expressed interest in the editing and post production process, it was arranged for him to spend time in the cutting room with the director who was in the middle of the post production phase. The student showed maturity and engagement throughout the placement and said it was so helpful and confidence building for him, it also gave him many things for his CV and to talk about in college interviews.
