Esther loved her time at Fable Pictures and handled several tasks including script reading, research and analysis. With the script reading she was required to feed back a breakdown of how she felt about the screenplay, its merits, faults and whether it would be something she’s interested in watching. With this she was able to give a detailed insight into the demographic of the script, its structure and tone, and apply a critical reading of the text. In terms of research skills, Esther was set the task of researching Fable’s previous projects and create a table including all ratings from various channels. She efficiently collated the ratings from across the internet, cross-referenced the findings, and determined the overall presence of Fable pictures amongst the indexes. This gave great insights into the public opinion of the company whilst also highlighting the longevity and popularity of previous films and is a document we have been referring to over the past week.
Esther was diligent and calm in her approach to the tasks set for her and tended to them with focus and care. Fable were particularly impressed with her verbal and written communication skills and proactivity, her keen eye for details and positive outlook.
This placement, combined with a 3 hour set visit to a Netflix show set up by EW, helped Esther decide to study the craft course at LSA which she is currently loving.
